I augusti 2007 öppnade Helena Olsson och Helena Gatås en montessoriförskola i Vårgårda tätort och sedan dess har vi vuxit både i barnantal och antal pedagoger. Vi vill erbjuda en väl planerad montessoriförskola som ser till varje barns enskilda behov och utveckling.
Under sommaren 2008 flyttade vi till nya, ändamålsenliga lokaler på Hallaberget, Hallabergsvägen 21. Mitt i samhället och mitt i skogen! Vi arbetar i två avdelningar, Blå och Grön, men vi jobbar också medvetet med att integrera grupperna för att barn och personal ska känna Vi-känsla.
Vi arbetar aktivt med tecken som stöd i våra barngrupper. Tecken berikar barnets språkutveckling och vi tecknar aktivt i många situationer. De flesta i vår personal har utbildning i tecken som stöd och några pedagoger har även fördjupat sig i teckenspråk genom olika utbildningar.

Verksamheten och miljön

Montessoripedagogiken betonar vikten av en stimulerande miljö. Vi vill skapa en vacker och väl förberedd miljö för barnet. Möbler, hyllor och materiel finns nära tillhands i barnens nivå. Vi vill att barnet ska få möjlighet att aktivt delta i alla vardagssysslor och därmed hoppas vi att förskolan får vara som en trygg hemmamiljö för barnet. LPFÖ-98 (Läroplanen för förskolan, reviderad 2010) är utgångspunkt i vårt arbete. Vi vill att barnen under sin förskoledag ska ha möjlighet att arbeta med det som intresserar dem för tillfället. Därför strävar vi efter att alla mål i läroplanen ska finnas tillgängliga i våra olika arbeten/lekmiljöer. Utevistelse är ett dagligt inslag i barnets förskoledag och utflykter till bl.a. biblioteket förekommer regelbundet.
Vi arbetar också aktivt med musik och rytmik. Vi ser föräldrarna som en viktig del i vår verksamhet och vi inbjuder regelbundet till föräldramöten, informationsträffar, utvecklingssamtal samt eventuella arbetskvällar. Inskolning sker under två veckor då föräldrarna har en aktiv roll. Vi erbjuder också föräldrar/vårdnadshavare ett inskolningssamtal i barnets naturliga hemmiljö. Då är det lättare för barnet att knyta an till sin ansvarspedagog när barnet kommer till förskolan. Vi respekterar naturligtvis om familjen ej vill ha inskolningssamtalet hemma och är då på förskolan istället.
